January snow play

This past weekend we had about 2 feet of snow.  

The whole city was quiet and snuggled down - it was amazing!

These three were out in it before the blizzard stopped!

Last Sunday we had a dusting of snow.  It got us all excited, and out in it immediately.

Eliza Wren was the first one to explore.

Cassie Lou wasn't sure what to think....so she soon snuggled down for a nap.

Meredith made a wee snow blob, which became her snow cone!

Then we all set off for a neighborhood walk!

While in NY this past weekend, Meredith had the ride of her life!

Eliza Wren woke up from her nap yesterday and found there was fun going on outside.  She happily squealed by the door and watched every step of her big sister and Daddy.

Meredith and Daddy worked together to build a friendly snowman!

We've had two home-bound days with all this beautiful snow!  Erik came home early yesterday and I caught this video of him and Eliza Wren having fun. :)

We had a fun jaunt to the Morris arboretum this past week to see their holiday train display.  It was a very chilly day with a high of 22F (eeps!), but we layered up and managed to stay there about an hour. :)

Leah and her family joined us for the last half and the girls had a fun time romping in the snow together!

They were thrilled to be able to help carry some trains back to the repair shop for the kind train engineer. :)

We'll be back for another visit soon!

Snow!

Our first snow of the season!  We've had two beautiful snow days this week!  It started snowing on Sunday, just after we arrived home from church before lunch.  And, it kept pouring down snow until late in the afternoon - so beautiful!

 Meredith and Daddy went outside to make snow angels and then joined some friends for sledding.  

A few friends came back home with them to warm up and have hot chocolate and popcorn. :)

Then, early Tuesday morning we got a beautiful wintry storm and it snowed for nearly 8 hours!  We braved the cold temps and pouring snow to play with neighborhood friends again.  I learned that having a 1 year old who crawls and can't keep on gloves/boots is a tough combination with snow. : p

We had beautiful, sparkly snow over the weekend!

Meredith and Daddy had a romp in the snow one morning 

and managed to feed the birds before they got too cold.

Christmas Festivities

We spent several days after Christmas with Jonny's family (Jane's brother) in Mechanicsburg, PA.  Jane's parents drove up from NC with Will so we had a total of 7 adults and 4 children altogether!
