'Tis the Season

It's hot in Philly now.  So...we are doing what all smart city-dwellers do - go to the splash parks!

Sunshine and Fresh Air!

Today was gorgeous, so I planned most of the girl's happy/wakeful time to be outside.  We frolicked all over north-western Philadelphia soaking in the sunshine, fresh air and beauty of early spring.

(love this photo of them giving each other adoring looks!)

Quotes from Meredith today:

Driving into the Morris Arboretum, we stop at the entrance to show our garden membership to the man sitting in the office (a small, enclosed building).
Meredith: "Why does that man live in such a small house?"
Me:  "Oh, he doesn't live there, that's just where he works."
Meredith: "Why can't he live there, and have a bed, bathroom, and kitchen fit inside?"
.... Perhaps we've had a little too much dollhouse play this week  :)

Meredith runs in breathless with Daddy skipping close behind.
"Mama, we are playing dance class!"
"Oh...are you the teacher?"
"Actually....I AM!"  :)

Playing with Friends

We've been romping on many different playgrounds this summer - working out lots of Meredith's energy while trying to keep cool.

We discovered a great park in Mt. Airy that has water play options as well as a wonderfully designed toddler-sized playground.  So much fun!

The last two weeks we've met Judah there to romp.

Judah is all boy and an absolute pro at water play - AMAZING!!

Meredith prefers to run through the area squealing while keeping as far away from the sprinklers as possible.  HILARIOUS...and so girly! :p

This week we played with little Derek as our "goodbye" play date before the Bucey's move in a few weeks.  We've been going to the Morris Arboretum for walks together since little Derek was a few months old.  We will miss them dearly!

What a cute little go-getter this guy is at 10.5 months and already beginning to toddle around!

NC Visit

Jane and Meredith enjoyed a week in North Carolina with Jane's family while I stayed home working and doing some home projects.

Meredith had a blast at parks and a lot of pool time throughout the week.

Aunt Tricia and Granna always joined in the fun too!

Visit with Granna, Grandaddy and Uncle Will

Over these last few days of May we had a wonderful time having Jane's family with us.  These photos are from an evening spent at the Curtis Arboretum near by.

early spring days

Meredith and I have been soaking up these warm early spring days with lots of outside play time. Walks at different parks have been on the docket nearly everyday for the last few weeks. Here are some photos from our romp at the Morris Arboretum this week.

First Picnic of 2012!

This week has been absolutely gorgeous with temps in the 70s! Yesterday Meredith and I visited 4 different parks in between errands and her afternoon nap. :) At the 4th park we had a lovely picnic dinner with Daddy in the evening. What a wonderful day!!

Welcome Spring!

playdate!

Last week we met up with our friends Michelle and Judah for a morning of play at the Chestnut Hill park. It was a beautiful sunny and crisp morning - just the right time to be outside!

Judah had his first haircut over the holidays! What a little stud. :)
The sandbox was a huge hit, as usual.
We headed up the street for snacks at Starbucks and we sat outside comfortably - wow, gotta love these mild temps in January!
(But, don't get too jealous Chicago/Colorado folks - this week we are in real winter temps)

Auntie Lita

Auntie Lita has been visiting with us this week - fun times all around!

Thanksgiving was a beautiful day here - so before the festivities began Erik, Lita and Meredith had some playtime at the park down the street. :)
